Student Evaluations of Practice

Students are asked to evaluate each placement area online at the end of each placement. There are two version, one for placement under 15 days and one for placements over 15 days. These evaluations are then collated every 3 months, checked and using the Practice Learning Teams, returned to practice areas. These evaluations are vital to placement areas to ensure your students agree that they are learning what they need to learn and are adequately supported. Student evaluation of practice plays an important role in the educational audit process. During an audit, the auditors involved will check the audit document filled in by practice staff and validate its content by looking at various aspects of the placements such as discussing placement issues with students and staff and check on documentation including the SEPs. The current response rate for evaluations from students has improved. Please carry on reminding your students to evaluate your placement as they leave. This helps you to see how well you have done overall and also to see if there are any areas that may need improvement via the feedback mechanism described above.
