• Glaxo Anatomy Project, CSU- 3D Human Body Geometric database of the Human Body- few sample images available & contact names.

• OnLine Images from the History of Medicine (NLM) 60,000 images searchable by keywords, date, location Images are 8-bit JPEGDownloadable images in bitmap and GIF formats

• Medical Images UMDNJ Patholology, Molecular, & Radiology images, Pathology best developed: cases each with hx, images, and dx for each case, by topic: GI, GU, Breast, integument, lymphatic, misc also available at a mirror site at UMN

• Hemat opathology Cases, NYU has interactive lymphoma case studies, listed by dx or by number. "Control" button to see normal comparison images. Part of NYU Hippocrates project.

• Ophthalmic and Gyne Pathology Images. Searchable databases of Ophthalmic and Gyne/Breast images- a good variety though somewhat low resolution. Available in English and French.

• The Royal Postgraduate Medical School Endocrine Images are available via the Gopher at Lund, Sweden. My attempts to connect to the RPMS gopher directly have all failed.

• Electronic Guide to Histology (Singapore) has photomicrographs and electron micrographs of numerous tissues with descriptive text.

• SLIDE index (microbiology and veterary slide archive) Searchable by title and keyword, no easy browse or TOC, I couldnt get it to work

• Visible Embryo Project Detailed presentation of the first 4 weeks of development with labelled diagrams.

• Alzheimer/Related Dementias Tutorial, W.U.St.L. Neuropathology has a collection of excellent annotated gross and microscopic images, mostly of Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and Pick's diseases

• Visible Human CD Samples Sample images from the visual man project.

• MedPicts is the name of an International group of Physicians and Computer Scientists interested in the issues involved in posting medical images on the World Wide Web, including standardizing formats and nomenclature. To subscribe to MEDPICTS Medical Images Mailing List send the message SUBSCRIBE MEDPICTS YOUR-NAME to listproc@ucdavis.edu. The list owner has a home page, with links to some derm resources and medical history drawings.

• Medical Imaging Newsgroup, alt.image.medical has discussion of medical images, largely slanted towards radiology, with occasional posted binary images.
