Research in this group falls into three categories:
Quantum Disordered Systems with research topics including, quantum chaos, quantum tunnelling, short-wavelength approximations in optics, random matrix theory, Anderson localisation, multifractality, random energy landscapes.
Quantum Gravity researching topics such as spin foam models of quantum gravity, quantum gravity in 2+1 spacetime dimensions, non-commutative geometry, quantum black holes, modified gravity, averaging methods in constrained quantisation.
Quantum Information encompassing the study of non-classical correlations in multipartite quantum systems, quantum cryptography, quantum computation and quantum statistics.
Entry requirements: The usual minimum requirement for entry is an upper 2nd class honours degree in mathematics (or mathematics related subject) or its equivalent.
International research students need to achieve an IELTS score of 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in each element.
