Commercialisation
The School of Pharmacy has an exceptional and long-standing reputation for the development and successful commercialisation of innovative technologies. The development of 6 spin-out companies reflects the strong commercial drive within the School for intellectual property translation, a process that is supported by a dedicated Business Development Officer, Dr Mark Gilbert, within the School. In recent years, our staff have submitted 26 patent applications and secured 27 licensing deals. A further measure of our success was the award to the School of the 2007 Queen's Award for Enterprise in the category of Innovation.
