School Colloquium

Location
B13
Date(s)
Wednesday 6th June 2012 (16:00-17:00)
Description

Professor Jeff Forshaw, School of Physics & Astronomy, The University of Manchester, "Teaching Quantum Physics: Particles, Waves & Fields"

I will talk about a possible way to approach quantum physics, starting from the idea of a propagator. The approach allows one naturally to develop the theory starting from the quantum mechanics of a particle moving non-relativistically in a potential through to the field theoretic approach. I am hoping the talk will be a beefed up version of the ideas presented in my popular science book `The Quantum Universe' co-authored with Brian Cox and published by Penguin Press.
