Biography

PhB (Hons), PhD (ANU)

Michael Hush is a Research Fellow at the University of Nottingham. His research primarily concerns investigating the dynamics of large quantum systems. In particular, when they are being continuously monitored. He is currently investigating non equilibrium dynamics in Bose-Einstein Condensates. He also has previous experience in quantum control, quantum optics and quantum information, which continue to be of keen interest to him.

He received his Bachelor of Philosophy and Doctorate of Philosophy from the Australian National University (ANU) where he also received a University Medal for Theoretical Physics. In terms of public outreach, he launched the 'Frame Your Physics' competition in 2012 which is being run again this year.
