School of Politics and International Relations

About Us

Welcome from the Head of School

Mathew Humphrey

Welcome to the School of Politics and International Relations at The University of Nottingham.

We are as proud of our excellent teaching reputation as we are of our superb research output. We have won a string of both national and University teaching awards, including the UK Political Studies Association's 'Innovation in Teaching' Award for three years out of the last four.

We offer a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, as well as top quality PhD supervision.

We are a diverse, international school, which integrates research and teaching at every level. We organise our research around our centres and institutes, covering almost all aspects of contemporary politics, and publishing regularly in the very best journals and with the top publishers. We are present and active on all three of Nottingham's campuses – in the UK, China, and Malaysia.

We're also proud of our very active student Politics Society, who play a full role in the life of the school. The society regularly holds a variety of events ranging from guest speakers, visits to Westminster, regular socials, and trips overseas, including Washington DC and Brussels in recent years.

The school website has lots of information about the school and our courses, but if you have any questions please contact us.
