Description

The School of Politics and International Relations is pleased to host a lecture by Sir Simon Gass, Political Director General of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Prime Minister’s Special Adviser on Afghanistan and Pakistan. The lecture will focus on the landmark agreement reached in July 2015 between six world powers and Iran over the future of its nuclear programme.

Sir Simon Gass joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 1977. During his distinguished career he has worked in its Security Policy Department; been Deputy Head and then Head of the European Union Department; Her Majesty’s Ambassador in Athens and most recently Her Majesty’s Ambassador in Tehran.

All are welcome to join us for what promises to be an interesting lecture, followed by a drinks reception.
