Postgraduate Wins Poster Prize

Chris Burgess, a PhD student in the Centre for British Politics has won top-prize in the University of Nottingham’s Postgraduate Research Showcase, held in the University’s Great Hall on the 7th June 2011. The judges consisted of a group of business and cultural leaders from the Nottingham area and judged his poster, Picturing Politics: Posters shed new light on how political parties spoke to the people, best of the 50 submitted to the competition. Chris based his poster on findings from his PhD, supervised by Professor Steven Fielding, which charts the history of the British political poster from 1906 to the present day.
