Utopian expert comes to Nottingham

Professor Lyman Tower Sargent, internationally recognized as a pioneer in the study of politics and utopia, is coming to Nottingham next year. Professor Sargent has been awarded a ‘Highfield Fellowship’ by the University’s Centre for Advanced Studies and will be spending two months at Nottingham. Professor Sargent is the author of numerous publications on politics and utopia including Extremism in America. In addition to research seminars and workshops on topics such as ‘Experimental Communities’, he will be offering a postgraduate master class and also working with undergraduates on Lucy Sargisson’s third year module ‘Political Utopianism’.
