Research opportunities

The School and its staff are very research-active across a broad spectrum of international relations subjects, comparative politics and international history.

Research is promoted through seminars and specialist workshops held in the School as well as the Faculty of Arts & Social Science’s fortnightly Research Seminar and Early Career Researchers Network.

Staff collaborate with colleagues at both the UK and Ningbo China campuses and these collaborations are supported through the University of Nottingham’s research priority groups (principally the ‘Integrating Global Society’ and ‘Science, Technology and Society’ groups and through several key research centres (see 'Related links').

Research clusters

Staff members pursue their own intellectual agendas, but collectively, their activities fall into the following research clusters:

  • Security and Conflict Resolution
  • Global Resistance
  • Development Studies
  • Europe and the Wider World
  • International Governance
