The Nottingham Centre for Normative Political Theory was launched in 2010 to encourage and promote the School’s research in normative political theory, which explores questions about how political arrangements ought to be. So for example how a society’s main institutions ought to be organised, what kinds of values and principles should be adopted, or how political choices should be made.
IAPS is a major focus of inter-disciplinary research on the Asia Pacific region and promotes large-scale co-operation in research, postgraduate teaching, international conferences and resource development. IAPS maintains particularly close relationships with the Institute for Contemporary Chinese Studies and the China Policy Institute.
