The causes and effects of MPs' incumbency bonuses in UK Parliamentary elections

The study aims to show how and to what extent, UK members of Parliament build up a personal vote in their districts. The study is going to use quantative methods to assess how significant this personal vote is, and how it has changed over time. The intention is to use qualitative methods to show exactly how MP's go about building up this personal vote, and whether different approaches yield different results.
