As a new student on an
undergraduate course starting in September 2006, we guarantee
to offer you a room in University-arranged accommodation* for
one year. |
So we can deliver our promise, you must make sure that you firmly accept your course place at The University of Nottingham by August 1 2006 (ie your UCAS status is either Unconditional Firm or Conditional Firm) and that we receive your accommodation application by August 1 2006.
*University-arranged accommodation is accommodation owned and managed by the University or external developers. Accommodation Services liaises closely with external developers to ensure accommodation meets acceptable standards both from Catering & Residential Services’ viewpoint and in terms of health and safety requirements.
If you are unable to meet the terms and conditions of our guarantee, we will do our best to help you find suitable accommodation.

We aim to provide all our students with appropriate accommodation. If you have a disability or any specific personal requirements, we’ll do all we can to provide the access and facilities you need. If you have a disability and need accessible accommodation, you’ll be guaranteed a suitable room in University-arranged accommodation for the duration of your studies. Students who have specific personal requirements will be considered according to priority and availability.

We want your time here to be as enjoyable and as hassle-free as possible. That’s why our accommodation not only provides somewhere safe and comfortable to stay, but each site has a dedicated management team on hand to make sure you’re well looked after. Each site also has its own student committee, run by students for students, who’ll organise lots of sports and social events as well as handle any welfare issues you may have. Committee membership fees are included in the accommodation charge. If you live in private sector housing you can join the Students’ Union Off-Campus Students’ Association to make sure you don’t miss out on any of the student social scene. All of the catered halls have their own warden and resident tutors, and self-catering sites have a site representative who are all on hand in case you experience any problems.
Accommodation fees for 2005/2006 ranged from approximately £2,546 to £4,293 depending on the type of accommodation. All bills (heat, light and water), meals for catered halls, student committee membership and personal contents insurance are included in the accommodation fee. Undergraduate students starting a course in September 2006 will be able to apply for accommodation online from our website. Please check our website for dates. A hard copy accommodation guide and application form is available in request.
