Dr Hamilton received a BSc in Psychology, Philosophy and Physiology from Oxford University in 1998 and then worked as undergraduate research assistant in Oxford Babylab with Kim Plunkett. She completed a PhD on the impact of neuronal noise for the optimal control of human arm movements with Daniel Wolpertand then moved on to a post-doctoral work on social cognition with Uta Frith and Scott Grafton. Everyday, we make judgments about what other people want, think, feel or know, just by watching them move. For example, when watching a child reach for a cookie, we infer the child's desire automatically. I am investigating how this occurs, in particular -
Answering these questions may reveal more about the neural basis of human social interactions and our ability to understand other people's minds.
