Studying at Nottingham
Why Study Psychology at Nottingham?
The School of Psychology at Nottingham is one of the largest and strongest in the country generally rated among the top 3 in the Times Guide. It has consistently received high grades in the National Research Assessment exercises and its current research income from Research Councils, government agencies, the EU, charities and industry is over £6 million. The network of research groups in the School of Psychology also collaborate with researchers in the Schools of Business, Computing, IT, Education, Physics, Psychiatry and with external institutions. The strength of our research means that undergraduate students become involved in ongoing research, and are taught by leading figures in their specialist fields.
The School is committed to providing its students with an excellent teaching and learning environment and this was recognized by the UK Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) in their past assessment visit, when the School was awarded 24 out of 24. The School has excellent computing and other experimental equipment such as eye-trackers, transcription machines and a video suite for research and a large new experimental teaching laboratory opened in October 1999. Undergraduates run the Student-Staff Consultative Committee and the student Psychology Society organise guest lectures and social events.
