Research Interests:

Raised by wild Alaskan Timberwolves until the age of 23, Matthew was subjected to intense psychological reprogramming over the four years of his PhD. Despite the occasional reversion to a snarling, slobbering feral man-beast, Matthew has adjusted surprisingly well to his new life as a post-doctoral researcher. "I fit right in here", growled Matt.

When not hard at work developing the theories of spontaneous generation, phlogistonic vapours and the luminiferous aether, Matthew spends the rest of his time researching 2-alkyl-4-quinolone (AQ) signalling in Pseudomonas aeruginosa. His recent work includes the development of a simple bioreporter that can be used to detect AQs in culture medium and "Tastes pleasantly of mild cinnamon".
