Two convergent and overlapping quorum sensing systems (ypsR/I and ytbR/I) have been identified. YpsR is thought to control the expression of ytbI but not ypsI. At 28°C and 22°C it is suggested that YpsR or a YpsR/AHL complex regulates motility by repressing unknown intermediate genes.
