Biography

I have over twenty years research experience (both academic and industrial) in applying artificial intelligence and information modelling techniques to engineering applications. I have worked within the Chemical and Manufacturing Engineering domains. Currently I am collaboration with the Education department, working on a project considering life long learning.

Expertise Summary

My main software skills are Java, C++, object-oriented databases (ObjectStore and db4o), deductive databases (IODE), ECLIF (a first-order logic language), XpertRule (a rule-based expert system), JSL (a discrete event simulation modelling library) and PolyAnalyst (data mining software). I have experience of the UML design tools Rational Rose and Enterprise Architect. I also have knowledge of the PHP, HTML, RDF, XML and JavaScript and the modelling languages SYSML and Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN).
