Barriers

Barriers Launch Meeting

The Barriers Project was officially launched at The University of Nottingham on Thursday 21st November 2013.

Collaborating partners travelled from the UK, the Netherlands, Zambia and Nigeria in order to discuss the preliminary stages of this multi-disciplinary project. It was agreed that there should be an end-user focus on peri-urban and rural communities who largely sit outside of Improved Cook Stove initiatives, which are mainly implemented in urban areas. Practical Action Consulting and the Energy Research Centre, Cape Town will be responsible for coordinating data collection in East and Southern Africa respectively.

We are in the early stages of the literature review and will conduct an East African pilot study in April/ May 2014 to further understand the stove market/ sector.

We all look forward to an interesting project.
