Peter Graham graduated from the University of Glasgow Vet School in 1989, where he remained as Small Animal House Physician and Research Scholar until 1995. During this period he was awarded the RCVS Certificate in Veterinary Radiology and a PhD on the Epidemiology and Management of Canine Diabetes Mellitus. Between 1995 and 2002, Peter was Assistant Professor at the world's largest specialist veterinary endocrinology laboratory in Michigan State University, USA, leading it as Section Chief from 2000. He was awarded Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Clinical Pathologists in 2002. At the end of 2002, he was appointed Managing Director of NationWide Laboratories and Cambridge Specialist Laboratory Services, (trading businesses of Dechra Pharmaceutical plc).
In July 2014, he joined the School of Veterinary Medicine and Science at Nottingham University as a Clinical Associate Professor

My past research has been clinically oriented with the aim of answering questions that arise in everyday clinical practice concerning pathogenesis, diagnosis, management and outcomes in companion animal endocrine disease and all species clinical pathology.
Diagnostic laboratories generate large amounts of data which in addition to assisting individual patient management can provide insights into pathogenesis, and pathophysiology when appropriately analysed. Observations drawn from large data sets can answer research questions directly or form the basis of questions best investigated through laboratory techniques.
