I am a PhD student based in primarily in Japan. I am interested in many areas of Applied and Psycholinguistics, including formulaic language development and first and second language attrition, as well as the changes which an individuals first language undergoes on the path bilingualism. I am also interested in classroom and language learner psychology. I speak Japanese to an advanced level and, until recently, taught English at secondary school in Japan.
Formulaic language processing in Japanese secondary school English
My research interests primarily revolve around formulaic language development, psycholinguistics and corpus linguistics. I look specifically at the relationship between quantity and type of exposure to language and the development of processing 'advantages' for certain kinds of phrase.
