School of English scores 94% in NSS 2016

School of English scores 94% in NSS 2016
Description
The University of Nottingham's results for the 2016 National Student Survey (NSS) are in. The results are the University's best to date and its strongest year-on-year improvement since the NSS began in 2005. School of English scored 94% for 'overall satisfaction'.

New DH Lawrence manuscript acquired by Manuscripts and Special Collections
Description
Manuscripts and Special Collections has recently acquired the manuscript of an important unfinished short story by DH Lawrence. 'The Flying Fish' was written by Lawrence in March 1925 when he was diagnosed with tuberculosis during a stay in Mexico City. It tells the story of an Englishman in Mexico who is called back to his ancestral home in the English Midlands.

Congratulations to Dr Andrew Harrison, Director of the DH Lawrence research centre, who has been awarded the Vice-Chancellor's Medal in recognition of his work with numerous community outreach events helping local people in Eastwood and beyond understand and appreciate their literary heritage.
