About us

The University of Nottingham Technology Centre in Gas Turbine Transmission Systems (UTC) is an internal cross-collaboration with the:

The UTC is located within the Department of Mechanical, Materials and Manufacturing Engineering; one of the premier engineering schools in the UK. It has an international reputation for the high quality of its research, teaching and graduates.

Research

Research at the UTC focuses on working closely with senior engineers in Rolls-Royce on projects that impact directly on the development of new engines.

The Trent 900 engine which powers the Airbus A380, shown above, is the one of a number that the Centre has contributed to.
