Members of the INS attended the Society for Name Studies in Britain and Ireland annual spring conference in Milton, Oxfordshire. Dr John Baker gave a paper entitled ‘Place-names and the evolution of administrative geography on the Chiltern dip slope’; the abstract for his paper and more information about the conference can be found on the SNSBI website. Eleanor Rye and Rebecca Gregory organised a postgraduate workshop and place-name walk around the Oxfordshire countryside which preceded the main conference.
