My Marriage My Choice

Project News for December

Project-lead Rachael Clawson attended the "No to Hate Day" conference at the National Holocaust Centre during December. Keynote Speaker was Sylvia Lancaster from the S.O.P.H.I.E. charity and other speakers included representatives from the Nottinghamshire Police Service.  Colleagues from our partner organisation, the Ann Craft Trust were also present. The day provided a forum for all kinds of safeguarding issues to be aired and discussed, including that of forced marriage.

Slight tweaks to our interview and focus group guides are underway as a result of feedback from piloting activities, and interviews are scheduled for early in the new year.

Recruitment is ongoing so if anyone can assist by making introductions to relevant groups for people with learning disabilities and parent/carer groups or by suggesting faith leaders who may be willing to be interviewed, we would be pleased to hear from them. We have already received much help from many colleagues for which we are extremely grateful.

The university will close from Wednesday of this week and so we send……

Best Wishes for Christmas and the New Year from the My Marriage My Choice project team!
