Assistant Professor in Clinical and Professional Skills, Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences
Adelle qualified from the University of Nottingham in 2013 and undertook a PhD beginning the same year, also at the School of Veterinary Medicine and Science. Her PhD was entitled "Maximising the impact of evidence based research on equine health and welfare" which she graduated in 2018. She started working at SVMS in Clinical and Professional skills in September 2016 teaching across the undergraduate curriculum. Adelle is also jointly responsible for the student portfolio's that are undertaken as part of the professionalism modules for all years, module convenes the clinical musculoskeletal module and acts as senior tutor for the preclinical students (years 0-3.)
Adelle mostly teaches Professional and Clinical Skills as well as decision making on the BVM&S course. These are often practical sessions and are frequently but not exclusively equine orientated.

Adelle's PhD focused on evidence based veterinary medicine, common conditions seen in equine practice and an investigation into colic in first opinion equine practice and from an owner viewpoint. Supervised by Professor Sarah Freeman and Dr John Burford, their research group collaborated with the British Horse Society to produce an evidence-based equine health initiative to help with the early recognition of colic http://www.bhs.org.uk/welfare-and-care/colic. Adelle's main research work at present is focussed on writing up the papers from her PhD studies.
