Dr Rob Dineen appointed as the du Boulay Professor of Neuroradiology by the British Society of Neuroradiologists (BSNR)

The Radiological Sciences group is delighted to announce that Dr Rob Dineen, Clinical Associate Professor of Neuroimaging in the School of Medicine has been appointed as the du Boulay Professor of Neuroradiology by the British Society of Neuroradiologists (BSNR) for 2015-2016.

During this appointment Dr Dineen will visit up to 10 UK radiology training centres to talk to radiology trainees about clinical neuroimaging research. The professorship was established by the BSNR in 2010 in honour of past-president Prof George du Boulay, with the aim of encouraging trainees to undertake research in neuroradiology.

Dr Dineen said: “Academic training and experience is sadly lacking from clinical radiology training in many centres, and so this is a great opportunity for me to hopefully inspire radiology trainees to look seriously into undertaking research during their training.  I did my PhD at the University of Nottingham whilst a radiology trainee, so am well aware of the challenges, and rewards, of combining academic and clinical radiology training”. Dr Dineen shares the appointment with Dr Adam Waldman from the University of London.
