Guidance interviews

Individual guidance interviews with Clare Jones can be booked by calling the Careers and Employability Service Reception on ext 13680.

Guidance interviews are confidential and offer an opportunity to:

  • discuss specific plans or career concerns
  • work on job applications and interview preparation

Interviews last for approximately 45 minutes and are available at various times throughout the week.

Guidance Interviews are normally held in a private office within the Careers and Employability Service. They can, when requested by the client, be held at their place of work if this is more convenient. In this situation it may not be possible to guarantee complete confidentiality.

Staff nearing the end of their contracts may also continue to use the guidance service for six months after the final date of their contract of employment with the University.

Career management workshops

Workshops for research staff are held at Careers and Employability Service and at the Graduate Centres. Topics covered include general career management skills and approaches, academic and non academic CV preparation, and interview skills. These workshops can also be offered to specific research groups or research staff networks across the University.
