The Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers
The Research-only Staff Group (RoSG)
The RoSG was established in 2007 to provide a forum to discuss research related issues. The Group meets three times per academic year and reports to the University’s Research and Knowledge Transfer Board (RKTB).

RoSG aims

To draw together existing knowledge and research findings (and conduct new research) about the issues effecting research staff (terms and conditions, needs and wants) to inform the development of strategy

To take into account external drivers (regional, national etc) when developing strategy

To further develop the sense of community amongst research staff at the university

To ensure coherence and maximise the potential of current centrally-provided support for research staff

To identify and promote staff development activities which meet the specific needs of research staff

To disseminate best practices across schools.
Concordat implementation
Since the launch of the Concordat in 2008, the RoSG has:
1. Undertaken and published an institutional and school-level benchmarking/gap analysis against the Concordat principles (December 2010) drawing on data from:
2. Developed the University's Concordat Action Plan 2011-2014 and a monitoring process to address areas emerging from the benchmarking gap/analysis.
