Enterprise Fellowship Awards
Third Call For Applications
The Enterprise Fellowship Awards aim to inspire the next generation of Nottingham entrepreneurs. Through this third call, we are offering two fellowships to researchers who want to further develop their innovation and explore the route to successful commercial exploitation.
Each fellowship will offer a salary to the researcher, and research related costs, travel and professional development (conditions apply). Guidance from experienced mentors will also be available. Runners-up will receive a £2,000 award to further develop their innovation or explore alternative routes to successful exploitation.
Who should enter?
Applications are invited from doctoral students and post-doctoral researchers whose research is related to one or more of the Engineering and Physical Science Research Council (EPSRC).

You or your supervisor will need to have an idea arising from your research which you believe has commercial potential and which you want to develop further.
Candidates must have submitted a thesis (viva does not need to have taken place) prior to the start of the fellowship or be within four years post doctoral award. Fellowships must commence before 31 January 2012.

By the applicant: A completed application form. All information provided within this document should be written in non-confidential terms.
Directly from referees: Two references, one of which to be from the doctoral supervisor or current line manager. The references must be signed and sent as pdf documents. Please ensure that you email your named referees a copy of the reference form to enable them to write your reference, together with a copy of your completed application form, and a copy of these guidance notes.
Directly from Head of School/Research Division: A signed pdf copy of the supporting statement from the relevant Head of School/Research Division indicating how the fellowship plans would fit with the School’s strategy.
Short-listed applicants will pitch their ideas to a panel of judges before the two winners are announced.
