| Nabil Gindy was appointed Professor of Advanced Manufacturing Technology at the School of Mechanical, Materials and Manufacturing Engineering, University of Nottingham in 1993. Prior to this he had held academic posts at the Universities of Coventry, Aberdeen and Loughborough. He has published over seventy refereed papers in national and international journals. His current academic research, all undertaken in collaboration with industry, embraces Knowledge Integrated Design and Manufacture, intelligent processing technology, robotics and machine tools, generative process planning and responsive manufacturing systems. He is principal investigator on numerous government and industry funded research grants. Nabil Gindy heads the Advanced Manufacturing Technology Research Group at Nottingham University, is Director of the Rolls-Royce University Technology Centre in Manufacturing Technology , and ex-director of the PRIME Faraday Partnership which brings together the Universities of Nottingham and Loughborough, together with the Pera Group, and is the Director of Nottingham University Innovative Manufacturing Research Centre (NMIRC). Nabil Gindy is external examiner to a number of leading academic Departments in UK and European Universities, is a member of the EPSRC Design and Manufacturing College of peers, member of the National Advisory Council for Aerospace Manufacture (NACAM), serves on the Membership Panel of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, and is a member of the Editorial Board of International Journal of Computer Integrated Manufacture (I J CIM) and International Journal of Production Research (IJPR). Nabil Gindy has organised, chaired and served as member of the organising committees of several international conferences and has a long experience of acting as a consultant to industry in the fields manufacturing technology and systems. | |||
