Activities for pre-16 local schools

We offer a range of FREE information, advice and guidance sessions for local schools within an hour’s commute of the University. Each session raises aspirations and awareness of higher education. Example activities include an introduction to higher education, post-16 options and a year group campus visit.

Please download our activity menu for more information.

IntoUniversity also offers a range of academic support for secondary school pupils.

In partnership with Nottingham Trent University, we also offer a variety of opportunities for current students to support you in your school or college.

Sutton Scholars

As part of Ambition Nottingham, Sutton Scholars is a free scheme for high achieving students in Years 7–9 within the region. The scheme raises aspirations and awareness of university, and students who complete the Sutton Scholars programme then continue onto the Ambition Nottingham programme through Years 10–11.

As part of the scheme, students can:

  • attend a welcome event and visit the University of Nottingham
  • attend a variety of interactive advice and guidance sessions, including subject taster sessions

If your school is eligible, you will be asked to select up to 20 students in Year 7 who meet the eligibility criteria.

Email us at ambition@nottingham.ac.uk for further information.
