Research
Academic Rheumatology has special research interests in the epidemiology and genetics of osteoarthritis (OA) and crystal deposition, community-based clinical trials, evidence-based medicine and laboratory research examining the role of angiogenesis and synovitis in OA.
Academic Rheumatology works closely with researchers across the University of Nottingham as part of the Arthritis Research UK Pain Centre. The Centre is pursuing a programme of research to better understand the mechanisms of pain in arthritis in order to develop improved treatment, and has its administrative base within Academic Rheumatology.
