The CEBD conducts research that is of direct relevance to patients, clinicians and NHS managers.
Our three main areas of activity are systematic reviews, clinical trials and dissemination & implementation.
We work with many partners, and welcome expressions of interest for future collaborative projects.
Systematic reviews summarise what is already known about a particular clinical question, and help us to identify major gaps in our current knowledge. This information is helpful in planning and designing future clinical trials.
The Centre houses the Editorial Base of the Cochrane Skin Group and is the Co-ordinating Centre for the UK Dermatology Clinical Trials Network.
Further details about our ongoing reviews, trials and related research activity can be found under Research Projects.
The majority of our research is funded through the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) or medical charities. We are currently in receipt of a prestigious 5-year Programme Grant for Applied Research grant that includes research into eczema, skin cancer, vitiligo and pyoderma gangrenosum.
