ASTIC TRIAL

  

Welcome to the ASTIC Trial

(Autologous Stem Cell Transplantation for Crohn's Disease)

 

A multicentre, prospective, randomised phase III study conducted by the European Crohn's and Colitis Organisation (ECCO), sponsored by the Autoimmune Disease Working Party of the European Group for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT)

January 2012

Patient recruitment is halted. Initial analysis is due in a year.

A total of 45 patients have been randomised (of these 35 have been transplanted).

September 2011

A total of 39 patients have been randomised. Of these 27 patients have

been transplanted.

July 2011 Nottingham consents their 13th patient

November 2010

27 patients randomised and a further 9 patients consented to the trial.

A total of 17 patients have been transplanted.

September 2010

Belgium joins the ASTIC Trial.

Leuven Hospital consents 2 patients.

20 July 2010

Edinburgh consents 4 patients in a day!

This brings the total number of patients for this site to 6.

April 2010 BARTS and the London consent their first patient.
January 2010 All approvals completed for Switzerland; the first patient enters the trial in Zurich.
July 2009

14 patients now consented into the trial, with 7 transplants complete.

  • UK(London, Oxford, Norfolk and Norwich)
  • France(Paris, Lille)
  • Spain(Barcelona)
  • Italy(Milan)
November 2008

Barcelona Storms Ahead - well done to Elena Ricart and her team.

5 patients registered and a further patient for discussion.

July 2008 The first transplants take place in Nottingham and Barcelona.
February 2008

Three sites now recruiting.

Nottingham, Oxford and Barcelona have completed trial registration.

July 2008 First patient recruited in Nottingham
