About the Division

Although the Division is located in the Queen's Medical Centre (QMC) Nottingham, our staff work across several sites. Clinical orthopaedics and accident surgery is based at the QMC and the Nottingham City Hospital where close relationships between the NHS orthopaedic staff and the academic staff have been fostered.

Postgraduate degrees

The Division offers research degrees of MPhil (Master of Philosophy), PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) and DM (Doctor of Medicine) in areas relating to the Division's research expertise.

The Division's Centre for Sports Medicine runs a taught Masters degree in Sports and Exercise Medicine which is recognised worldwide.

Short courses

In collaboration with NHS colleagues, the Division also runs three courses to specifically assist year 3-5 Specialist Registrars in Orthopaedic Surgery in their preparation for the FRCS(Orth) examinations.
