The Division of Therapeutics and Molecular Medicine is part of the School of Clinical Sciences and the Nottingham Respiratory Research Unit. We carry out both laboratory and translational research around the molecular pathology and genetics of lung diseases including asthma, COPD, pulmonary fibrosis and lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM).
--Simon Johnson, Head of Division
Our research interests include the molecular and cellular biology of airway remodelling, the genetics of asthma and COPD and hyperpolarised gas lung imaging. Learn more .
The Division has an active research training programme for both clinical and non-clinical postgraduate students leading to PhD and DM degrees.
We are constantly looking for volunteers for our genetics, clinical trial and cell biology studies.
Our laboratories offer genetic testing of WNK1, WNK4, CUL3 and KLHL3 genes on a research basis for individuals with hyperkalaemic hypertension suggestive of Gordon’s syndrome (Pseudohypoaldosteronism type 2, PHA2). For further information please contact Mark Glover.
