Real Time PCR

The Division of Therapeutics and Molecular Medicine (TMM) is making available its Real Time PCR machine to other departments.

Brief Description

The Mx3005P (Stratagene) is a real-time thermal cycler for QPCR (Quantitative PCR) which contains 5 filters: FAM/SYBR Green I (492nm-516nm), HEX/JOE/VIC (535nm-555nm), ROX/Texas Red (585nm-610nm), Cy5 (635nm-665nm) and Cy3 (545-568).

Applications

Real-time PCR (e.g. TaqMan, SyBr Green)

Allele discrimination/SNP genotyping

General Information

The user will be liable for any repairs, if these are a direct result of misuse.

All plates should be set up within the end users department.

Charges per two hour run

First run, includes supervision and training = £50

Second and any subsequent supervised run = £35

Unsupervised run = £25
