I am heavily involved in the organisation and teaching of the MSc course in Translational Neuroimaging, run by the Division of Radiological and Imaging Sciences. I am the convenor of the Clinical Neuroimaging (A34CN1) and Generic Research Skills (A34SNR) modules, as well as being a MSc project supervisor and student tutor.

I am currently co-supervisng two PhD students within the Division or Radiological and Imaging Sciences, and am internal assessor for two PhD students from other Divisions within the School of Clinical Sciences.

I am involved in undergraduate medical teaching of radiology, and regularly supervise BMedSci students during their honours year projects.

I am actively involved in post-graduate clinical neuroradiology education and training and am the current educational lead for Neuroradiology Subspecialty Training in Nottingham. In addition, I activiely contribute to neuroimaging education for other specialties including neurosurgery, paediatrics, neurology and psychology.

Current Research

My major research interest is the application of neuroimaging techniques to characterise pathophysiological mechanisms in neurological diseases. During my PhD thesis I used MRI (including perfusion imaging and diffusion tensor imaging) to study the mechanisms of cognitive dysfunction in MS. I aim to develop this interest by using advanced neuroimaging to explore functional deficits, particularly in cognitive processing, in different diseases. I have interests in cerebrovascular imaging and am a neuroimaging assessor for two large international multicentre randomised controlled acute stroke trials (the ENOS and TARDIS studies). As a practicing clinical neuroradiologist I have particular expertise in paediatric neuroimaging, including the assessment of paediatric neurotrauma, neuro-oncology and neonatal imaging.
