Basic Science revision course for FRCS(Orth)

The Basic Science Course has been established to specifically assist year 3 - 5 Specialist Registrars in Orthopaedic Surgery in their preparation for the FRCS(Orth) examinations.

The Nottingham Basic Science Course provides intensive preparation for the FRCS(Orth) in a three-day course format. A wide range of teaching techniques are employed on the course centering on interactive lecture sessions and mock examinations. The course covers all the topics required for the basic science examinations, including; bone-nerve-muscle physiology, fractures, biomechanics and orthopaedic implants. The course also involves a written examination, an MCQ examination and a viva voce all based on the FRCS(Orth) examination procedure.
