Seminars, Special Lectures and Workshops

The exchange of ideas and the dissemination of research is an integral part of the academic life of the Department. We host regular research seminars throughout the year and hold an annual postgraduate workshop.

We are also involved in organizing special lectures within the School of Modern Languages and Cultures. The recent Annual Lecture was given by the Special Professor of the Department of Russian and Slavonic Studies, Yuri Slezkine (University of California at Berkeley): 'Revolution as Reformation’.

Exhibitions

Professor Cynthia Marsh has recently curated the exhibition 'Windows on War: Soviet Posters, 1941-43' and organized study days, special lectures and talks for the wider public.

The exhibition has been reviewed in the national and local press.
