    Supervision and Training

    Supervision
    Each student will be assigned an academic supervisor(s) who will have the appropriate qualifications and expertise in the agreed area of research. The supervisor will be responsible for providing guidance and assistance to you during your period of registered study. University guidelines recommend a minimum number of regular consultations between you and your supervisor. The supervisor will also discuss with you your training needs and agree a research training programme.

    Training
    The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences provides a training course designed to meet the specific needs of students registered within the Faculty and is complementary to the courses provided by the Graduate School (see below). The programme offers training under the following headings:

    In year one of their studies, students are expected to attain 20 credits from attendance at the Faculty training programme. Study away students can access some of the training materials through the Medicine and Health Sciences Graduate Centre

    The University of Nottingham Graduate School provides access to training to registered students in line with advice from the Research Councils and Industry. They offer a number of courses grouped under the following headings:
