About the course

This programme addresses the needs of a range of professionals who work in settings with people who are experiencing, or have experienced trauma.  Increasingly, it is recognised that adopting a person-centred approach offers flexibility in addressing the complex, challenging, intercultural needs of people who have experienced trauma in a diverse range of contexts.Participation in the programme will enable you to develop, extend and deepen your knowledge of theory and practice systematically and enable you to begin to develop expertise in person centered aspects of psychosocial helping, psychotherapy and counselling work within a variety of settings and for work with individuals, groups and communities experiencing trauma.

The programme will employ an inclusive notion of trauma and will utilise and draw from the broad range of existing research, knowledge and skills of staff in the Centre for Trauma, Resilience and Growth. Participants will learn experientially through workshops and seminars aimed at developing personal awareness, skills and knowledge
