At 25 metres long and 18 metres wide, the University Swimming Pool qualifies as a short course competition pool and is home to a number of University sports clubs.
Based on University Park Campus, the pool has a movable floor at the shallow end, which allows for greater flexibility on the number of activities available.
As well as serving the needs of the University community, the swimming pool also operates an external memberships system.
A full programme of activities is offered, including:
• swimming lessons
• lifeguarding courses
• aqua fit classes
• ASA Swimfit Programme
• swimming club sessions
• water polo club sessions
• lifesaving club sessions
• canoe polo club sessions
• sub aqua club sessions
• triathlon club sessions
• canoe club session
Please note many of the above activities are for University of Nottingham students only. For more details please go to the Pool Activities page.
The pool is also used by the Nottinghamshire County Swimming Squad, Nova Centurion, who train at elite level and have produced a number of Olympic and Paralympic swimmers, including Rebecca Adlington. A number of University students are also members of this squad.
We also work closely with Cerebral Palsy Sport, who use the facility for development days and their national championships, which have attracted Paralympic champions such as Liz Johnson and Sascha Kindred.
