The University Swimming Pool, based on the University Park Campus, is one of the newer sports facilities.
At 25 metres long and 18 metres wide, the pool qualifies as a short course competition pool and is home to a number of University sports clubs.
The pool has a movable floor at the shallow end, which allows for greater flexibility on the number of activities that the facility can cater for.
As well as serving the needs to the University community, the swimming pool also operates an external memberships system.
A full programme of activities if offered including:
The pool is also used by the Nottinghamshire County Swimming Squad - Nova Centurion - who train at elite level and have produced a number of Olympic and Paralympic swimmers, including Rebecca Adlington. A number of University students are also members of this squad.
We also work closely with Cerebral Palsy Sport who use the facility for development days and their national championships, which has attracted Paralympic Champions, such as Liz Johnson and Sascha Kindred.
