If you want to get active and stay healthy throughout this academic year, then the Any-Body Club could be just the thing for you.
We will be running a programme of different activities and sports aimed at helping you to maintain a good level of all round health and well being, such as yoga, fitness classes and aqua fit.
We will also, for the first time ever, be running women only gym sessions at our Jubilee and Sutton Bonington sports facilities.
The Any-Body Club programme of activity will start the week commencing 7th May 2012.
The Any-Body Club initiative this year is being run through funding from the University's Development Office and Sportivate.
The funding which comes from Sport England is aimed at supporting people get back in to sport and physical activity on a regular basis.
We hope that Any-Body Club will go some way to encouraging students, staff and members of the local community to enjoy getting active!

University Park Gym
A fun new way to exercise. Dancing to music whilst either skipping or using the rope around your body to improve your cardiovascular fitness and flexibility. This class can be adapted to suit your level of fitness, so why not come down and give it a go!
Fit-Walk: Outdoor, instructor led sessions based around fitness walking and circuit training techniques. You will achieve a full-body workout using body weight and low-impact cardio-vascular exercise. Perfect for improving fitness, increasing muscle tone and heightening mood in the great outdoors! Bring outdoor clothing as it could get wet, it could get messy but it’ll definitely get you fit!
JogClub: Welcome to the next step (pardon the pun) of Fit-Walk....JogClub! These sessions are designed with the beginner in mind. Low levels of jogging, between brisk walks around campus. Build your pace at your own level. Your instructor will lead your route and encourage you along the way as you improve your muscular endurance, fitness and cardio vascular health. Practice dodging dogs, jumping over geese, overtaking old ladies... and enjoy the fresh air!
This course looks at practices to help you manage stress and enhance your well being during the final term of the year. You will learn different practices which may help to bring balance to your mind and mood. This class is run by experienced yoga teacher Ommms Guru Swaroop.
The women only gym sessions, are essentially just that. We will be providing instructors for the sessions, so if you would like advice on how to use the gym equipment or a fitness programme developing, they're there to help you out. If there is the demand we will also be looking to run abs classes and other classes.
