Finding standards

Finding British standards online

The University of Nottingham subscribes to the full text of the British Standards.

  • Use the quick search box to search for a keyword or the standard number.
  • Use the advanced search to filter by year of publication/update etc.

Finding print versions of standards

In some cases, the library may have some standards available in print.

  • Go to NUsearch [UK;China;Malaysia] and type for the name of the publishing body into the search box e.g. British Standards Institution or American Society for Testing and Materials
  • Select ‘as author/contributor’ from the ‘anywhere in the record’ dropdown beneath the search box 
  • Click on search

More Standards websites are available via NUsearch [UK, China, Malaysia].

  • Go to the Databases tab  
  • Select ‘Standards’ from the ‘Databases by category’ menu options 
  • Click ‘Available online’ to access any of the resources listed
