Trent & Peak Archaeology / The University of Nottingham Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem Caves   The Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem public house is located at the base of Castle Rock, adjacent to the Brewhouse Yard Museum.  The Trip to Jerusalem is thought to have been established in 1189 and claims to be the oldest inn in England.  Learn more about the pub and its history by visiting their website here To the back of the pub lies a system of cellar caves cut in to the sandstone, some of which are Medieval in date.
