Assessment
Keeping a Diary

One of the most important aspects of any archaeological fieldwork is keeping a site diary or field journal. The diary forms part of the primary record of your fieldwork, along with your photographs, drawings and pro-forma record sheets. The more information you record in your diary the easier it will be for you or someone else to write up your results in the end. Keeping a diary will be a necessary part of the fieldwork element of this fieldschool.

Rock Art Recording
Students will be expected to produce several rock art motif recordings, a baseline and offset drawing of one shelter, and at least 2 section diagrams for submission.

Team Work
Working as a member of a team is a necessary skill for all archaeologists, but especially when doing fieldwork. However, this is a skill which needs to be learnt and practiced. Many of the fieldwork exercises in this topic will involve you working as part of a team with other students. We will all be living together as a team too, so this forms an important part of the fieldschool. Assessing how you work and live together will also be important.
