Student life

Now that you have your offer, you're probably keen to find out more about settling into student life at Nottingham. A good place to start is to hear from our students themselves.

Fresh start

Visit our Fresh Start blog to read stories from recent first years. They share their views on all aspects of student life from settling into halls and exploring the city, to studying abroad and student elections.

There are also loads of blogs to read from schools and departments across the University, written by both students and staff. Visit our blogs page for a full list.

Societies

SU

We have over 200 societies for you to get involved in, whether you're looking to pursue a hobby or try something new. You can find a full list of societies on the
Students' Union website

The student charity Karnival also offers the opportunity to raise money for good causes and the Student Volunteer Centre has 92 volunteering projects for you to get involved in.

Connect with the SU on Facebook and Twitter to keep up to date with what's new.

Support services

support

We provide a network of specialist services, trained advisers and self-help facilities that are designed to support you as an individual.

Our Student Services Centres offer drop-in sessions and support across all our campuses. Some of the support they offer includes academic and disability support, financial support, counselling, faith support, childcare and the University Health Service.

To find out more about our support services, visit the Student Services website.

Sports

sport-2

We're investing over £40m this year in new sports and gym facilities and we pride ourselves on the breadth of our offer with over 70 sports clubs for you to join.

Our popular intramural league has more than 200 teams playing for their hall, department or society every week. And for those who want to keep fit without competing, we offer three levels of sports membership, giving you access to sports and fitness facilities as well as a range of exercise classes.

To find out more about membership, visit the Sport website.
